WELCOME TO THE WORLD OF ART.
It may look like hard work and it is. Students need to get the eye ,hand ,brain ,motorway really firing to master skills , problem solve, and to organise the elements of art. Your children learn that what you create is a direct result of what you put in and the satisfaction of a successful project is magic. They begin with an empty piece of paper or some paint  or pastel and through their own ideas and actions make the world anew. You should applaud their determination and courage.

TERM ONE... year seven and ten will be the first students to sample the delights of the art room this year. I am planning to use the expertise of our year ten artists to help design and create a vibrant visual representation of our revised school rules. We will be including our Treaty of Waitangi commitment by using our parallel Maori value concepts. Year sevens will be learning about the elements of art under the theme of Aotearoa , we rock. All students will be expected to use digital media to make a record of the stages of development their work goes through as well as the final result. They will be transferring these images to their e-profiles so that parents can be astounded by their creativity, grit and determination. The students will be able to view and analyse the work to assess their strengths and focus on areas that need xtra attention. I expect the students to work as an artist would we must be honest and brave in our assessment and contually seek to move out and upward. Art is a life long journey, hop on the bus or be left in our dust.
